About this Disco Cat

This is Major Tom, the biggest sparkling icon in our Grooovy Paws collection. Major Tom is a real cosmic centerpiece for your interior: his sparkling coat catches the light like a supernova, and may turn heads wherever he lands.

This Disco Cat is named after the space-faring hero of a certain Starman's most famous song, Major Tom is caught mid-launch: up on his hind legs, front paws raised, reaching for the stars in his best begging position.

Measurements

This disco kitty is a tall boy:

  • 55 cm or 21.7 in from paws to ears
  • 30 cm or 11.8 in of depth from front paws to tail
  • Weighs 4 kg or 8.8 lb

Materials

Ground control can expect him to be sturdy, because Major Tom is made of resin and the disco tiles are grouted with a white holographic glitter grout, so no space dust gets lost.

Major Tom originally comes with silver disco tiles, but custom requests such as gold, rosé gold and other colours can be made. 

This disco cat is grounded enough to be an outdoor cat.

Please note that every single disco tile has been placed by hand, and therefore patterns may vary and show small imperfections. But your Disco Cat will be 100% unique, ready for lift-off, and may just steal the show. 

Shipping 

This disco cat is shipped with all the care in the world to his new home. If you want to adopt him, ground control will make sure he touches down safely: snugly wrapped, well cushioned, ten, nine, eight… all the way to your door.

Frequently asked questions

Will I have to pay customs duties?

Orders delivered inside the EU are not subject to customs duties or import taxes. Grooovy Paws is based in Belgium.

United States: import duties are calculated at checkout and are included in what you pay, so everything is settled before your cat leaves Belgium. There is nothing to pay on delivery. US customs no longer allows duties to be collected from the recipient, so this is now the only way parcels can enter the country.

Everywhere else outside the EU, including the UK, Norway, Switzerland and Iceland, your package may be charged import duties or taxes on arrival. These are set by your local customs authority and are the responsibility of the customer. If they apply, the carrier will contact you before delivery.
How much does shipping cost?

Free within Europe: the EU, the UK, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.

Everywhere else it is a flat €40 per order, however far your disco cat has to travel. We cover the rest ourselves.

For orders to the United States, import duties are added at checkout on top of shipping. For all other destinations outside the EU, customs charges are payable on arrival and are not included.
When will I receive my order?

Your order (if in stock, excl. pre-orders) is shipped within 7 days of your order. 

Transit then takes up to another 7 days, depending on where you live. We ship from Belgium, so please count on roughly 14-21 days in total.

Pre-orders work differently, because your Disco Cat still has to be made. The expected delivery period is stated on the pre-order product page, and that is the date that counts.
What if I change my mind?

You have 14 days from receiving your cat to tell us you want to return it, and another 14 days after that to send it back. The date you hand it to the carrier is what counts, not the date it reaches us.

Return shipping is paid by the customer. Please get in touch before sending anything back, and keep the original box: a mirror-covered sculpture cannot travel safely in anything else.

If your Disco Cat arrives damaged or defective, that is a different story. Contact us immediately with photos and we will put it right at our cost.
Why is the price set at this level?

We understand that our pricing is on the high end, but it reflects the high-quality materials used and the fact that each item is carefully handmade. Every piece takes time, skill, and attention to detail to create.

The product is also unique and cannot be found anywhere else in this size or form. Unlike mass-produced items from large commercial retailers such as Amazon, Shein, or Temu, our pieces are individually crafted rather than factory-made.

We also invest in careful packaging to ensure your item arrives in perfect condition, which adds to the overall cost. In addition, we cover most of the shipping cost for every order.
